Doctor Who, More Soundtrack, and Saruman Singing

Well, where to begin?

Life can be a fickle and flighty thing.  I can be sulking one moment, and then catapulted into epicness by a simple song.

Speaking of which, I find this song insanely epic.  Both versions.  ;)  It makes me laugh and bounce at the same time.  Check it out, and enjoy.

I'm blasting this in my ears as I write this post.

Anyway, back to subject.  If there is one.

I've also found this hilarious video called "Trolling Saruman" in which Saruman sings and gives me nightmares. It's another spoof, and one of the best ones—very well done.

Besides this, I've also been up to something else.

My sisters and I have recently discovered the BBC science-fiction TV show, Doctor Who.  I watched several episodes at the One Year Adventure Novel Writer's Workshop, and I decided it was interesting.  And when I saw it was play-it-now instant on Netflix, I thought, "Well, let's see if it's good."

And I was hooked.

Not much else to say.  We're all Whovians now, as they say.  We think Doctor Who is epic.  We're slowly making our way through the five season available on Netflix.

Has anyone out there watched Doctor Who?  If so, what'd you think?

And if you haven't watched Doctor Who, here's sort of an explanatory video for you.  I don't think it quite captures it (and the actor that is in question is the newest Doctor, Matt Smith, who I have yet to watch).  But it does a good job of telling you what Doctor Who is about.

LOOK AT ME, I'M A TARGET!

Oh, and one more video.  Last one, I promise. ;)  This one's the theme song of Doctor Who, one of my favorite soundtracks to listen to.

That's all for now.  Ta-ta, folks!

Doctor Who is epic.

I agree with Gimli. That was scary. But really well done.

I've never watched Doctor Who, which makes it yet another show I'll eventually need to sit down and plow through. My parents are very strict about what we're allowed to watch, which means we watch... oh, about 0% of tv shows. *sigh*

My parents are strict about what we're allowed to watch, too. And that's only moviewise, since we don't have a TV.

If you have Netflix, it's Instant Play right now. You can watch it on your computer—-that's what we've been doing.

But really, I don't think that video about Doctor Who does it justice. It makes it seem silly and not quite as epic as it really is. And the actor is Matt Smith...I haven't even gotten to that Doctor yet.

The Doctor is one of the most complex characters I've seen, for instance, and they make him seem like a joke-cracking mad scientist. He's actually a witty Time Lord with a grim side, who refuses to let evil happen and is as deadly as a tornado. He's hilarious, and yet chilling. There was actually one scene in one episode where the Doctor said, in a quiet tone, "Now you've made me angry, and NOTHING IN THIS WORLD can stop me!" He's bitter, yet joyful, good, yet grim, the last, lonely remnant of the ancient and powerful Time Lords.

ANYWAY. Doctor Who spazz, sorry. ;)

:D Ok, possibly long comment coming up here.

First of all, that POTC disco-type song is SO EPIC! I just cannot get over it :P I've listened to it...well...since I found it that one time I've probably listened to it over 100 times XD I had it on replay and mom was like, "PLEASE put in your headphones because I'm sick and tired of it now!" :P so I did...and listened to it more. It's really catchy for writing too, I find.

Anywho, onwards :P

As I'm writing this I'm watching that Sauruman spoof. And LOL! He's absolutely hilarious! Annndddd eww. He got spiked. Like...that was perhaps the most awesome spoof of LOTR I've seen yet :P highly disturbingly funny.

Now on to the Dr. Who (never seen it or heard about it). I love it :P lol, that was a great movie haha...the actor looks pretty ... actorish. He's good. The whole regeneration thing is fascinating :P golly...I kinda want to see it now lol.

As for the Dr. Who sound track...talk about epic mixed in with alien! I love it :P With the whooshers in the background *chuckles* very cool!

Anywho, that's 'bout enough for me. I'm going to talk to my parents about maybe checking into this whole Doctor Who business :P It sounds like something I'd enjoy watching :D

@Squeaks

Yeah, you bet. XD I've listened to it over, and over, and over again. Everyone but me is tired of it.

You hit the nail on the head. Highly disturbingly funny. The song will give me nightmares. >_>

Yup, Doctor Who is amazing. Actually, it's called "Doctor Who" because the main character is called the Doctor. For no reason. It's his name, not his title. So, the reason the show is called Doctor Who is because you often find characters saying, "The Doctor? Doctor WHO?" But the Doctor is his name.

The only points I have caution on is that there are several inappropriate references in the first season (like someone asking a female character if they want to go to a hotel, though nothing comes of it—-that's probably the worst of it), and it is often creepy. It's not for everyone, and some people find it too strange or too creepy (at times). However, I really like it.

And if you do watch it, start at the beginning. First season. Otherwise, it might be too confusing.

The soundtrack is indeed excellent. Oooooooeeeeeeoooooh!

Oh, and speaking of the actor, I don't think he's the best one, personally. His previous regenerations are better. The poster, for instance, is David Tennant as the Doctor, and he's much grimmer than this Matt Smith, but still hilarious. And Christopher Eccleston was grimmer still, and I like him the best.

Anyway...another Doctor Who spazz I need to tone these down and stop talking so much. XD

I don't like the POTC movies as much as I like the music, rephrase: I like the movies, but I like just about all the sound tracks from it more. (I have this thing for music, can't play it well myself, but will listen any time I can get my hands on some.

Sauron is actually quite a good singer ;)...... maybe not, I've heard some stuff quite a lot worse, so, fortunately, I wont be getting nightmares. Hopefully.

Never watched Dr Who, it looks interesting, but not completely up my alley. Still, I should try it out.

My shire-horse awaits,
Farewell

The reason I just found your blog is b/c I saw it in someone else's sidebar with a pic of the Doctor. I must say, the little trailer-thing you posted is pretty epic. Though, as you said, the doctor is a lot more complex than it makes him seem. I think that toward the end of Tennant's time as the doctor he was just getting a little dark and moody, so Matt Smith is extra crazy, just to switch things up a little.

Anyways, DW is an epic show. I'm in season five right now and I can't wait to start season six. I've heard it's amazing.

I've never seen it before but it looks really interesting. I can't say Im a huge fan of the theme song, but the spoof was hilarious.
